Dr. Andrew Sloane, MBBS, ThD
He joined the faculty of the Morling College, Sydney, Australia in mid 2002 as a Lecturer in Old Testament and Christian Thought.
Andrew was born in Scotland and raised in the western suburbs of Sydney. He completed his medical degree at the University of NSW and practiced briefly as a doctor before entering the Baptist ministry. He entered Morling College in 1987, completing his degree in 1990 and was ordained the following year.
He has served in Baptist churches in Randwick, Leura and Newcastle. In 1994 he completed his doctorate at Morling (through the ACT) in the fields of Philosophy and Old Testament. From 1996–2002 he was on the faculty of Ridley College in Melbourne, first as Lecturer in Old Testament and Christian Thought, then as lecturer and Warden of Ridley University College.
His teaching interests include Theology, Ethics, Philosophy and Old Testament. He has published articles in ethics and philosophy, as well as a book based on his doctoral thesis, "On Being a Christian in the Academy" (Paternoster, 2002).Andrew is married to Alison, and they have three daughters, Elanor, Laura and Alexandra. |
